Google Sites ranked as the top search property in India with more than
1 billion searches conducted in June, representing 81 percent of the
market. Yahoo! Sites ranked second with 9.4 percent, followed by Ask

Number of patent applications is growing worldwide, says UN

Increased patent applications in China and the Republic of Korea, as well as in the United States, have pushed the total number of filings to 1.76 million, according to a new report from the United Nations World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO).
In its latest report, based on the most recent available figures from 2006, WIPO said today that the number of patents granted worldwide had grown by 18 per cent in one year to 727,000. The UN agency added that the total number of patents in force was some 6.1 million.

India approves more than 1000 CDM Projects

India has approved 1013 Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects in the country. The latest clearance to 15 projects was given in the meeting of the National Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) Authority headed by the Secretary, Ministry of Environment and Forests, during first week of this month. Air Deccan to fly to London

The Ministry of Civil Aviation has conveyed its approval to the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) for the grant of traffic rights to Deccan Aviation Limited in the India-UK sector. Traffic rights of seven services per week have been granted between Bengaluru and London (Heathrow) utilising A-330 aircraft w.e.f. 26 August, 2008.

The Ministry has advised that DGCA may grant the operating clearance to Deccan Aviation Limited after due diligence of the airline’s ability to operate on the long-haul sector.
